fair play policy
Safe play for everyone
Our Fair Play Policy only works if parents and guardians cooperate and encourage their children to play by the rules.

We design our play areas to encourage independent physical play for children aged 4 years and over. We allow adults on to the play frame to supervise if needed
For children aged 3 years and under, we have created exclusive gated baby and toddler play areas for use with adult supervision at all times. This allows children of this age group to play safely at their own pace, separate from the older children. For the safety of all our visitors we are required to manage access to this area and we cannot make exceptions.

We invest in training and keeping these areas exciting and well maintained. Our Play Pals are there to help make it fun and keep it safe for everyone.
If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know or ask a member of the team during your visit.
Gold Operator Award
Safety is really important to us, as physical play is never risk free. Our Fair Play Policy is based upon European safety guidelines for indoor play and recommendations from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPa). We are inspected annually and are proud to hold the highest RoSPA Play Quality GOLD Operator Award.

Maximum height for children using the main play structure at Head Over Heels Chorlton and Wilmslow is 1.55m.
-
Parents or guardians are responsible for the supervision and behaviour of their children at all times.
-
Only children aged 3 and under are allowed in the toddler area with adult supervision required at all times. When quiet, children aged 3 and under may also use the main play frame if accompanied by an adult at all times, however the slides are not recommended for this age group.
-
For children's safety, adults are permitted on the play frames for supervision purposes only.
-
Older children over the permitted entry height of 1.55m are not permitted on the play frame or in the toddler area at any time, not even to supervise younger children.
-
To reduce the risk of friction burns, arms and legs should be covered even on hot days. Our centres are air conditioned to keep play as cool and fun as possible.
-
Clothes with cords that could catch in the equipment should not be worn in the play area.
-
No sharp objects, pens, belts with buckles, jewellery, hair pins, money, etc. may be taken into the play areas.

Head Over Heels cannot accept liability for any personal property.
-
For safety, it is forbidden to climb on the netting. Balls or other objects should not be thrown at each other. To use the big slide safely, always descend in a seated position with legs facing forward. Do not play in front of any of the slide exits.
-
For hygiene and safety, adults and children must wear socks or tights on the play frame and in the toddler area. Socks can be purchased at reception if needed.
-
Shoes must not be worn in the play area. Shoes can be stored in lockers or in the stow pockets by the play entrances.
-
Our centres are steam cleaned daily to kill bacteria and we have our very own ball sanitising machine. Children should use the toilet and wash their hands before entering the play area. Antibacterial gel is provided around the centre for you to use.
-
Children who are unwell must not use the facilities.
-
No food, drinks, sweets or chewing gum to be taken into the play area.

Only food and drink purchased at Head Over Heels can be consumed on the premises.
Members of staff monitor the play structure and have access to first aid equipment. In the event you have a problem or any concerns, please talk to the manager or a member of staff.
Head Over Heels staff are not provided to supervise children.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION | There are inherent risks associated with children playing together and moderate physical activity. These include children being exposed to tripping or bumping into objects and other children. Through design, maintenance and the operation of our facility, we have taken every reasonable step to control these risks. However it is impossible to eliminate these risks completely and parents and guardians must recognise and accept these risks when visiting our centres and using our play facilities.
